Dorm Room Birthday Decorations

Decorating for Sam's Birthday

19 Already...Yes, I have a 19 year old Daughter. So for 19 years I have been coming up with different birthday decorations and cards. We have done a lot of different things. This has always been so much fun. One thing that she is always excited to see is the Birthday Tree. Yes, we have a Birthday Tree. So this year since Sam is loving grey and white ( had to through in some black) this is what I came up with.

Happy Valentine's Day

Busy morning at our house! It's Valentines day and time for our annual pink heart shaped pancakes! When my daughter was little we always had a special breakfast on Valentines day. When she was getting ready to move to college. She said the one thing she was going to miss was not being home for Valentines day! Well due to the passing of her Great Grandpa she is home for the funeral. So this will be a special breakfast to cheer her up~! We are so sad to lose him but so thankful to have known him! We are counting our blessings this morning! We are so blessed to have an amazing family and wonderful friends. Remember to let the people you love know how special they are! Happy Valentine's Day!

Another Day of Crafting...

So off I go to my studio (which is actually my basement, but saying "studio" makes me feel so much better-LOL!) Today will be filled with vinyl and oilcloth. I really need to create some new items for my Etsy site. This site is still a work in progress but I'm getting there! Hoping for a very productive day! Wish me luck!

My Daughters Tennis Banquet

Started planning for my daughters tennis banquet before the season even started. Found oversized tennis balls to use for autographs. I ironed on a logo that I created. They look really good. The girls loved them. I made little banners for the table centerpieces. I used glass containers filled with lemon heads (which look like little tennis balls) then put the little banners in those. I also used tennis balls everywhere and a lot of balloons in our school colors. So after a lot of planning and creating what a great night. The girls all seemed to really appreciate all the work that went into planning this evening for them. We had an amazing turn out after not thinking anyone was going to come (20 RSVPS-?!?). It was an emotional night. It started when my daughter was sitting at the computer writing her speech about her coach. I lost it when she started to read the words that she always so eloquently places on paper. She has grown up so fast and has become a wonderful young lady. So PROUD of her! I did fine at the banquet until all the senior Mom's had to get up and say something. I was not so eloquent. I started to open my mouth and the tears just came. Another last time event. No more tennis banquets. Wow! Were does the time go. Lots of memories and cherished moments with all of these tennis girls. So glad I got a chance to get to know them. Thankful for those moments!

Feeling Creative!

Spent the night creating! My favorite thing to do. Made some homemade cards for some upcoming events in our family. Can't wait to see everyone reaction. Started making a list of things to do for my daughters upcoming Senior year. So hard to wrap my head around that. Where does the time go (my Grandmother used to say that all the time - NOW I know what she means). Have the reception site booked. So this year will be busy and exciting!!
